Fruit Crisp Topping
- ½ cup oats
- ½ cup flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup cold butter
- Combine the oats, flour and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Cut the butter into the bowl in small pieces with a knife.
- With clean hands, rub the flour and butter mixture between your hands until it is in crumbly (sandy in texture).
- Sprinkle the topping over a prepared fruit base and bake at 375 F for 35 minutes.
This topping is delicious over a mixture of apples and peaches!
Other fruit bases you can try include:
- strawberry and rhubarb
- pear
- cherry
- raspberries
Remember to coat the cooking dish with butter or another type of oil/spray to ensure the fruit and topping do not stick.
