When I was going through Nana’s recipes I came across this one and I want to make it! I have never had raisin pie before and the recipe seems fairly simple to follow. There were no directions for the time and temperature for baking included on the recipe card but I suspect if we follow the normal baking times and temperatures for baking a pastry shell it should be sufficient – say 425F for 30-40 minutes…
Raisin Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups seedless raisins
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- butter
- lemon juice
Directions
Pour boiling water over 1 1/2 cups of seedless raisins. Let stand until cool, drain the water and save it.
Add the sugar, flour and salt to the raisins mix. Stir to combine. Pour the raisins mixture into a prepared pie plate and add 1/2 cup of water (the water you poured off the raisins and reserved). Dot well with butter and sprinkle a bit of lemon juice on top. Cover the raisin mixture with a pie crust and bake until your pastry is golden brown.
